✨ BOOK CLUBS ✨
***
The Book Clubs below run on a rotation basis, every couple of months (info for current book club below).
How it works:
Registration will open every time we pick a new book to read. You will need to register every time we choose a new book club pick, if you are interested in attending the meeting.
Space is limited, so if you have registered but can't make it to the meeting, please send us an email or call to let us know so we can give your spot to someone else on the waiting list.
Book Club Newsletter:
To be aware of each coming book club.s, you can register to our newsletter on the home page or if you scroll all the way to the bottom. Make sure to check your spam inbox once you've subscribed.
How to support the event:
All of our book clubs are free to attend and buying the book with us isn't mandatory. However if you don't already have the book, buying it through us does support Terrier Books.
Alternatively, you can now give a voluntary-based contribution to the book club.s if you want to support our events directly.
- TERRIER BOOK CLUB -
It is our main, classic book club. The books chosen in this one will be mostly fiction. Perfect for those who like reading to escape reality!
- BOOK TO SCREEN BOOK CLUB -
Read the book & watch the movie/TV show. In most cases, there will be a date set to watch the movie all together before the meeting, where we'll compare both. We'll talk and share what we like and didn't like in both. For all the cinephile out there!
- BOLD BOOK CLUB -
A book club for the open-minded. Talk and exchange in a safe space, without judgement. Yes, there will be books on sexuality, social justice or other hot topics!

Book Pick:
What We Can Know by Ian McEwan
About the book:
“The best thing McEwan has written in ages. It’s a sophisticated entertainment of a high order.” —Dwight Garner, The New York Times
“Brilliantly, and surprisingly, plotted. . . . [McEwan] demonstrates with shocking intensity how little we can ever really grasp about the strange evasions of the heart.” —The Washington Post
2119: The lowlands of the UK have been submerged by rising seas. Those who survive are haunted by the richness of the world that has been lost.
Tom Metcalfe, a scholar at the University of the South Downs, part of Britain's remaining archipelagos, pores over the archives of the early twenty-first century, captivated by the freedoms and possibilities of human life at its zenith.
When he stumbles across a clue that may lead to the great lost poem, revelations of entangled love and a brutal crime emerge, destroying his assumptions about a story he thought he knew intimately.
What We Can Know is a masterpiece that reclaims the present from our sense of looming catastrophe, and imagines a future world where all is not quite lost.
Meeting time:
Thursday, October 15th, 5:30-7pm
at the bookstore (6689 Goodmere Road)
