Alone, together, a brother and sister, Opal and Rust , must leave their dying woodland home, and travel to the edge of all things in search of their stolen-away mother. The world outside the wood is dark and treacherous , and home to many a bizarre and foul creature . With each other's help, the children must grow up fast and overcome their inner demons to navigate the lands of Fear and Desire , before the sun sets on their world, and any hope of seeing their mother again is lost forever.
